Painting process: Plate of mixed figs

Once again, I am painting one of my favourite subjects, figs! Pictured above is my loose sketch and still life set-up. (oil on cradled panel, 16 x 16 inches)
My underpainting.

Detail of the finished figs and plate. You can see I added thicker paint with the palette knife to render the figs and add texture. The underpainting, which was done with a brush, still shows through in some parts.
Above is the finished painting with the still life set-up. It was a joy to paint the detail on the plate.
A better look at the finished piece. Nice contrasts in this one.
