Braving the elements

I painted in -3C weather today like a lunatic!  After driving around looking for a good spot, my husband and I ended up not far from home in Clare.  I found a little quiet patch in the woods where the afternoon light was peaking through the trees.  I was inspired!  Too bad it was so cold, I couldn’t stay out there long, my hands were starting to hurt quite badly.
Working on the underpainting. Due to the small size of my Pochade box, I am working with a limited palette. My palette ( from left to right); titanium white, lemon yellow, cadmium yellow, cadmium red light, alizarin crimson, ultramarine blue and viridian.
This is where I stopped. It was just not a good idea to stay out any longer and we had a little trek ahead of us back to the car. Neither of us want to end up sick. Despite the cold, I really enjoyed myself.  Once we got home, we had a much deserved cup of tea and put our feet up.
